Every person comes into this world at a unique moment. The positions of planets, stars, and constellations at the second of your birth create an unrepeatable cosmic pattern -- your natal chart. It is a kind of passport of your soul, containing information about your character, talents, life purpose, and major life challenges.
What Is a Natal Chart?
A natal chart (also called a cosmogram or birth chart) is a diagram of the positions of the planets in our Solar System relative to the Earth at the exact moment and exact place of your birth. It appears as a circle divided into 12 sectors (houses), showing the positions of the Sun, Moon, and planets within the signs of the Zodiac.
Unlike regular horoscopes, which only consider the Sun sign (your "usual" Zodiac sign), a natal chart analyzes the positions of all key celestial bodies and their interactions with one another. This is precisely why two people of the same Zodiac sign can be completely different.
How Is a Natal Chart Created?
Three parameters are needed to create a natal chart:
- Date of birth -- day, month, and year
- Exact time of birth -- ideally accurate to the minute (this can be found on your birth certificate or hospital records)
- Place of birth -- city and country
The time of birth is especially important -- a difference of even 10-15 minutes can significantly alter the chart, particularly the Ascendant position and the distribution of planets across houses.
What Does a Natal Chart Reveal?

The chart reveals your deep nature -- not how you behave in public, but who you truly are. It shows your innate qualities, fears, motivations, and behavioral patterns.
Talents and Strengths

In astrology, there is the concept of Lunar Nodes -- points that show where your soul came from (past lives) and where it needs to go (the tasks of this incarnation). This is one of the deepest and most transformative aspects of a natal chart.
